MASSACHUSETTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION ENDORSES
STATE REP. NATALIE HIGGINS IN HER RE-ELECTION BID
The Massachusetts Teachers Association endorsed State Representative Natalie Higgins (D-Leominster) in her re-election campaign in the 4th Worcester District. Made up of teachers, faculty, and staff of both public and private schools in the Commonwealth, the MTA represents over 110,000 members across Massachusetts. Their work protects the rights of educators and improves the quality of education available to Massachusetts’ youth.
“Natalie Higgins has been an unwavering advocate for public education at all levels,” said Massachusetts Teachers Association President Merrie Najimy. “From supporting the Student Opportunity Act to being a leader in the fight for public higher education funding and affordability, Natalie is a voice for educators and students on Beacon Hill. We can count on Natalie Higgins to continue to support public education in both her actions and her words.”
“It's no surprise that I care deeply about public education, from early to higher ed,” said State Rep. Natalie Higgins. “I am so thankful to have the support of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and to continue to work with them to ensure that every student in Leominster has access to the education they deserve, that we fully fund the Student Opportunity Act, and create a path for debt-free, public higher education.”
State Representative Natalie Higgins is currently serving her second term as State Representative in the 4th Worcester District, which consists entirely of the city of Leominster. Rep. Higgins is a former nonprofit director and attorney, and has focused on being accessible and available to Leominster residents with early morning and evening office hours. Her priorities in the State House include fighting for high-quality public education from pre-school to college, bringing down the cost of healthcare, supporting working families, and ending sexual and domestic violence.
