NATALIE HIGGINS IN HER RE-ELECTION BID The Massachusetts Sierra Club endorsed State Representative Natalie Higgins (D-Leominster) in her re-election campaign. The Sierra Club works to protect the environment by connecting activists, volunteers, and supporters to voice concern and demand action. In this session, Rep. Higgins collaborated with Rep. Andy Vargas (D-Haverhill) introducing legislation that would study incentives for low-income households to reduce their energy consumption and greenhouse gas pollution and establish two pilot programs in gateway cities. "Natalie Higgins has been a vital ally in advocating for renewable energy, environmental justice, and clean air and water,” said Jonathan Cohn, Secretary of the Massachusetts chapter of the Sierra Club. “The 2020s will be the decade in which the decisions we make determine whether or not we can maintain a livable planet, and we need legislators like Natalie in the fight." "I am proud to partner with environmental champions like the Sierra Club to ensure we're taking bold action to tackle climate change and promote environmental justice across the Commonwealth," said Rep. Higgins. State Representative Natalie Higgins is currently serving her second term as State Representative in the 4th Worcester District, which consists entirely of the city of Leominster. Rep. Higgins is a former nonprofit director and attorney, and has focused on being accessible and available to Leominster residents with early morning and evening office hours. Her priorities in the State House include fighting for high-quality public education from pre-school to college, bringing down the cost of healthcare, supporting working families, and ending sexual and domestic violence. ###
