NATALIE HIGGINS IN HER RE-ELECTION BID The American Federation of Teachers Massachusetts endorsed State Representative Natalie Higgins (D-Leominster) in her re-election campaign in the 4th Worcester District. The AFT-MA, the state affiliate of the national organization of the same name, seeks to increase opportunities for students of all backgrounds to access high-quality and enriching learning experiences, pre-K to college. "State Representative Higgins has long been our public education champion through her advocacy on public higher education, as well as K-12, and there is no better voice for us from our community bringing our collective voice to the Statehouse everyday,” said Beth Kontos, President of the American Federation of Teachers Massachusetts. “It is with great delight that once again, we endorse her and her campaign for re-election.” "Public education is one of the best investments in our communities we can make, and I am proud to have the support of AFT-MA and their members in my re-election campaign," said Rep. Higgins. "I look forward to continuing to work with them to fight for equity in our education funding from pre-k to higher ed." State Representative Natalie Higgins is currently serving her second term as State Representative in the 4th Worcester District, which consists entirely of the city of Leominster. Rep. Higgins is a former nonprofit director and attorney, and has focused on being accessible and available to Leominster residents with early morning and evening office hours. Her priorities in the State House include fighting for high-quality public education from pre-school to college, bringing down the cost of healthcare, supporting working families, and ending sexual and domestic violence. ###
